MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

“Being at the World Equestrian Games in 1994, 1998 and 2002, team bronze at the 1999 Pan American Games, and being a member of winning Nations’ Cup team in 2006,” Eric said. He was third in a grand prix in Aachen earlier in 2006 with Hickstead.

  • Eric said “I rode for pleasure until I worked for George Morris as a groom. Then, I was a pick-up rider.

  • “I played competitive tennis,” he said, and “I (still) play tennis and work out. I’m a fitness freak; I even have a gym in my house.”

Member of the winning Nations Cup Team, in Florida, 2006, placed third in the 300,000 Euro Aachen Grand Prix in 2006 and won the Duke Energy Cup at Spruce Meadows in June, 2006.

  • Hamlet was an international level show jumper and is by the phenomenal sire of jumpers, Nimmerdor. Ekstein is also a top sire of show jumpers, including Ian Millar’s former jumper, Ivar.

  • “He thinks he’s tall! He has the biggest heart, is careful and brave,” said Eric. “He’s friendly, but can be stallion-like at times.”
