MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Member of the Nation’s Cup team
at the Spruce Meadows Masters Tournament in 2005,
represented Canada at the World Cup (Malaysia) in
2006, and won the Direct Energy Cup (1.6m) at Spruce
Meadows in July.
TID BITS
-
Argentinus is the sire of the
World Cup Champion, Anka 191, and several other
top show jumpers, as well as the dam of Evi
Strasser’s World Equestrian Games dressage
mount, Quantum Tyme. Grannus is the broodmare
sire of the 1994 World Champion, Weihaiwej.
-
“He was bought as a dressage
horse at auction in Germany at about 5 years
old,” said Jill Henselwood. “He was an amateur’s
horse, but he was not suitable.”
-
He was sent to Canadian
trainer, Suzanne Dutt-Roth who determined he
wasn’t suited to dressage and asked Jill to find
out if he could jump. Jill said he required
‘special education’ (hence his name) and “he
progressed fairly quickly because he is
naturally gifted.”
