In the spring of 2009 Spruce Meadows, working in close partnership with the Imperial Oil Foundation,  Ducks Unlimited and the Parks Foundation Calgary will introduce a new educational and environmental initiative; “Eyes on the Wetlands”.

Eyes on the Wetlands has been designed as a multi-year, multi-phase, program inclusive of both formal and informal curricula with a special focus on the natural and created environments in and around Spruce Meadows. The partners worked over a two year period to create a platform to launch Eyes on the Wetlands.

The first phase of the program includes formal classroom opportunities, through resources made available from Ducks Unlimited, formal field study, observation platforms, interpretive pathways, bird watching, a marsh walk, and a deep water platform.

Spruce Meadows invites schools, youth groups, community and corporate organizations to experience Eyes on the Wetlands; a unique, educational and treasured environment for people of all ages to enjoy through the generations.

Advanced registration for formal Ducks Unlimited programs will commence in December 2008. Classroom programs begin in April with the arrival of the migratory and nesting fowl.
