2025 Fall Funding Cycle: Investing in Impact

Hull Services provides critical support to children and youth facing complex challenges, offering safety, stability, and pathways toward healing. Through our fall 2025 funding cycle, the Leg Up Foundation awarded $140,000 to a range of organizations across Alberta, guided by our five pillars: Education, Health and Wellness, Agriculture, Community, and Amateur and Grassroots Sport. Each organization reflects a commitment to strengthening lives and creating meaningful, long-term impact, and Hull Services is a powerful example of that mission in action.

Supporting Mental Wellness Through Art Therapy

A portion of funds raised through our 50/50 program was directed to support Art Therapy within Hull Services’ Secure Services program. This initiative plays a vital role in supporting the mental wellness of youth who have experienced significant trauma. Through a gentle, creative approach, Art Therapy provides young people with a safe space to express themselves, build confidence, and develop resilience, often without even realizing they are engaging in therapy.

Hull Services shared the following message with us: 

“On behalf of everyone at Secure Services, we wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks for helping raise funds in support of Art Therapy within our program. 

Art Therapy plays a vital role in supporting the mental wellness of the youth we serve, many of whom have experienced significant trauma. It offers a gentle, creative approach to healing, allowing youth to express themselves through art while working alongside Nicole. She has an incredible ability to create a space where young people feel safe, seen, and supported, so much so that they often don’t even realize they’re engaging in therapy. Through this work, they are building confidence, resilience, and strength that will stay with them well beyond their time with Hull Services. 

The funds raised through your 50/50 event will directly support this program and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the youth living in the Secure Services program.
