At the moment, the September Series of tournaments is on at Spruce Meadows (September 1-19, 2021) and the grounds continue to be CLOSED to the general public for visiting the shop, walking, cycling and driving through.

Spruce Meadows has worked for months with all levels of Provincial and Federal Governments to obtain a National Interest Exemption to operate its events in September 2021. The submission to the Federal Government included the Covid-19 mitigation plan that has been signed off by the Province of Alberta, as well as the Economic Impact of the Spruce Meadows events on Calgary, the Province of Alberta, and Canada. This National Interest Exemption was required in order to allow foreign nationals (international athletes, support staff and officials) to travel and be admitted to Canada under separate and distinct Covid-19 mitigation protocols.

With the opening of the Canadian Borders by the Federal Government to any fully vaccinated international travelers on September 7, Spruce Meadows is now able to sell a LIMITED AMOUNT of advance sales tickets to the facility on Saturday and Sunday of the 2021 'North American' CSI 5*.  These are the only three days a pre-ticketed, limited amount of public will be admitted to Spruce Meadows.

If you need driving directions to Spruce Meadows, please click on LEARN MORE below.  We encourage you to access Spruce Meadows one of three ways:

  1.  East Calgary Ring Road via Westbound Stoney Trail - if travelling from Deerfoot/Macleod Trail, watch for the turnoff immediately following the Sheriff King Street overpass to James Mckevitt Road/Spruce Meadows Way overpass. Turn right onto the overpass to Spruce Meadows Way (note: there are dual left turning lanes at the lights).
  2.  West Calgary Ring Road via Tsuut'ina/Stoney Trail - watch for turnoff to Spruce Meadows Way immediately following the overpass to James Mckevitt Road/Spruce Meadows Way (expected to be open in October 2021),
  3.  Via Macleod Trail S and 194 Avenue SW - from Macleod Trail S, turn on to 194 Avenue westbound and follow until you reach Spruce Meadows Way SW and turn right.

Due to construction around the Calgary SW Ring Road, these directions may change.  Thank you for your patience.
