Singer Reuben Bullock will take the stage at Spruce Meadows this Sunday as the headline entertainer for Cavalry FC’s EPIC Match, presented by EPIC Weekends at Spruce Meadows.
The Calgary star, best known as the lead singer of indie band Reuben and the Dark, will perform a pre-game solo set from 2:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., as well as the national anthem, at the May 25 Cavalry game against Winnipeg’s Valour FC.
The performances will be part of many matchday features, in what will be a preview for new June and July events, EPIC Weekends at Spruce Meadows.
Other highlights will include:
With Cavalry on a CPL winning streak fresh off the back of last Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Vancouver Island’s Pacific FC, the EPIC Match promises to delight fans both on-and-off the pitch.
“We are calling this the EPIC Match for good reason,” said Cavalry President Ian Allison, who is also Senior VP of Sport and Media Services for the team’s ownership group Spruce Meadows.
“With the actual EPIC Weekends events launching in June, we thought Sunday’s Cavalry game would be the perfect opportunity to debut some of the event highlights—music, movies, entertaining dachshund races, and the super-popular mini cows everyone loves, to name but a few.
“Add these sampler features to the excitement of a Cavalry game, and sunny weather in the forecast—what could be more EPIC?”
