Cold beer, live music, Oktoberfest-inspired food and one very appropriately named DJ are coming to the Equi-Plex on Saturday, September 26.
Prairie Prost: Oktoberfest at Spruce Meadows is our take on the classic Oktoberfest celebration, bringing the spirit of a traditional German beer hall to Calgary for one big Saturday night. From 6:00 p.m. until midnight, the Equi-Plex will transform into a lively Oktoberfest-inspired beer hall, with live music, food, dancing and plenty of reasons to say Prost. And the first round is already taken care of. Your first beer is included with admission.

At the centre of the night is Du Hast Musik, Calgary’s own Oompah band.
Known for bringing the sound and energy of a traditional German beer hall wherever they go, Du Hast Musik will set the soundtrack for the evening with plenty of reason to sing along, hit the dance floor and raise a stein.
Expect a lively mix of music, good company and all the atmosphere you would hope for from an Oktoberfest night out.
Du Hast Musik, Calgary’s own Oompah bandThe live music may wrap, but the night certainly doesn’t. Later in the evening, DJ Prost Malone takes over and keeps the party going until midnight. From Oompah to DJ, Prairie Prost is built to carry straight through the evening, so come prepared to stay awhile.
No Oktoberfest celebration is complete without something good to eat. Guests can dig into Oktoberfest-inspired food throughout the evening, with cold beer close at hand and plenty happening around the Equi-Plex.
Whether you are coming for the beer, the food, the music, the dancing or all four, this is very much a make-a-night-of-it kind of event.

If you have been waiting for an excuse to bring out the lederhosen or dirndl, this is it. Oktoberfest attire is highly encouraged, so lean into it. Traditional looks, Bavarian-inspired outfits and anything that feels suitably festive are all welcome.
Not dressing up? You are still very much invited.
