The funds, many of which were raised with YOUR help via the Unstoppable Online Auction in August and early September, will go straight to #NotInMyCity, the not-for-profit organization set up by Alberta country star Paul Brandt and his wife Liz.
This incredible total is the largest amount ever raised through a single-event Leg Up Foundation fundraiser, and one of the biggest donations ever made to #NotInMyCity. Your generous bids and donations will empower #NotInMyCity's vital work in prevention, awareness, and supporting survivors on their journey to restoration, with an ultimate goal of bringing an end to human trafficking and exploitation.
Through cross-sector partnerships and public education—including a free e-learning course and collaborative initiatives with airports—#NotInMyCity equips people and organisations to recognise indicators, respond appropriately, and support coordinated action.
In addition to the online auction, some of the money was raised at the Leg Up Foundation Unstoppable Luncheon on September 5, attended by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh in her new role as Royal Patron of Spruce Meadows. Her Royal Highness, Paul, and Liz connected as passionate advocates in the fight to end human trafficking.
Because of you, this donation will fuel projects that:
Shine a light on this far too-often hidden crime and raise awareness in our communities.
Disrupt exploitation and support high-risk youth and vulnerable communities.
Empower survivors with crucial resources and support.
Fund prevention programs that educate and protect.
Advocate for stronger policies to help end trafficking for good.
And much more.
From all of us at the Spruce Meadows Leg Up Foundation and everyone at #NotInMyCity, thank you for your Unstoppable generosity. You are helping to create a safer future for all.
