Military Tattoo at the 'North American' Tournament

The Spruce Meadows Inaugural Military Tattoo will see you treated to performances by The Royal Canadian Artillery Band, National Band Naval Reserve, the Stetson Show Band, and Scottish Power Pipe Band; one of the world's leading Grade 1 Pipe Bands featuring musicians from Scotland, N Ireland, Toronto, Vancouver, and Chicago.  The sounds of traditional massed Pipes and Drums will accompany Dancers from the Keltika Highlands who have partnered with the Calgarian-based Campbell School of Highland Dance to bring a fusion of dance and music from across the world to the International Ring.

Beginning at our 2023 outdoor tournaments, we will have an array of captivating orbs, about the size of an orange, awaiting discovery. Among the orbs available at our tournaments this summer and fall, there are a select few orbs that hold an extra special allure in their design in stunning tones of jewel green, blue, and red. Electrifying weekend of sensational music!

Get ready for an explosive weekend of amazing sport, sensational music and unforgettable performances at the Spruce Meadows 'National'! Prepare to be blown away as three extraordinary artists, Charlie MajorCarolyn Dawn Johnson, and Aaron Pritchett, join forces to create an unforgettable concert experience on both Saturday, June 17 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 18 at 1 p.m.

On Canada Day, there will be some awesome extra activities for the whole family and kids to enjoy during the 'Pan American' tournament. It's going to be a super fun day! 

For the rest of the tournament, the focus will be on show jumping in our West Complex. So make sure to mark Canada Day on your calendar for some extra excitement! As per usual, there will be no fireworks at Spruce Meadows on Canada Day. 

The ‘North American’ is a celebration of the close ties between the horse and the military. The pounding hooves of the competitors are amplified by the marching cadence of our military celebrations. We Salute our Heroes with the Lord Strathcona's Horse Musical Ride, live entertainment, Canadian Military displays, shopping and more, this week is perfect for a family trip or an outing with friends, or even a date! 

The eyes of the world are watching as top riders and horses compete on the famed International Ring at Spruce Meadows this September.


The Oktoberfest Tournament welcomes horses and riders to the Spruce Meadows Equi-Plex.
