Our first filly of the season arrived a little earlier than expected, and her story is one of resilience and hope. Born two weeks premature, she sadly lost her dam, Revival, due to complications during delivery.
Despite the difficult start, the filly proved strong and healthy from day one. Thanks to an incredible Alberta nurse mare network, a caring mare named Art stepped in and quickly accepted the foal as her own.
Sired by Spruce Meadows stallion Ice Man du Houssoit, this special filly’s name will begin with the letter “I.” Now thriving under Art’s care, she’s already showing off her curious and spirited personality.

On April 29, the Spruce Meadows herd welcomed its second foal of the season as proud mom Smart delivered a healthy and beautiful little filly. From her markings to her gentle expression, the resemblance between the pair is hard to miss.
Sired by the Hanoverian stallion Spot Cash, this sweet filly’s name will begin with the letter “S.” Though a little shy at first, she’s becoming more curious every day and loves getting out into the paddock to show off her playful personality. Whether staying close to Smart or exploring the world around her, she’s already proving to be a wonderful addition to the Spruce Meadows family.

On May 19, 2026, the Spruce Meadows herd welcomed Foal #3 — a beautiful filly and a very special arrival for the Spruce Meadows family. First-time mom Serenity Now, a proud alumna of the 2020 Name the Foal, presented by TELUS contest, delivered a healthy foal who is already capturing hearts around the barn.
Sired by Gunfire PJ, this young filly’s name will begin with the letter “G.” She also shares a special connection to the Spruce Meadows breeding program as the grandfoal of the Hanoverian stallion Spot Cash.
Both mare and foal are doing well, and while the filly is still finding her footing, she’s already showing plenty of personality and promise for the future.
