Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a deliciously unexpected twist at Death by Chocolate, a fun interactive murder mystery experience at Spruce Meadows' British House. 

Indulge in a gourmet, chocolate-inspired menu as you unravel clues, interrogate suspects, and work to solve a sweet—but deadly—crime before the night ends. 

Tickets are $95 per person (+18% service charge and 5% GST).

Seating

Seating for this event is arranged at elegant round tables of eight, creating a warm and social atmosphere. Tickets may be purchased individually (minimum of two), allowing smaller groups to join fellow attendees. Parties purchasing eight tickets together will enjoy a private table reserved exclusively for their group. 

All other guests will be seated with fellow ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join us for an unforgettable and fun evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a lively cocktail hour (cash bar), followed by a delicious buffet dinner at 7:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress in cocktail attire with a hint of mystery to elevate the atmosphere and enhance the experience.

Step inside Tillie Tonka’s famed chocolate factory, where confections roll out by the truckload—and secrets simmer beneath the surface. Cherry Cream, Tillie’s ambitious secretary, may have her eyes on more than just the chocolates. Carob Chipps, a rival chocolatier, remains a pale imitation of the real thing. 

Rock Candie, foreman of the hardworking Lumpy-Wumpies, is pushing for better benefits, while Al Mond, a longtime supplier, is tired of being paid peanuts for his efforts. Meanwhile, Tillie’s daughter, Sugar Maple, recently married the aristocratic Sir Uppy Maple and would prefer to forget her humble roots entirely. In this bittersweet world of ambition, rivalry, and hidden agendas, tensions rise—and ultimately lead to Death by Chocolate.©

How This Mystery Unfolds

An Interactive, Laugh-Out-Loud 
Dinner Theatre Experience


Get ready for an evening where comedy takes centre stage, and you become part of the mystery. Upon arrival, guests will find a helpful “Super Sleuth” ballot at their table to jot down clues, theories, and suspicions. Throughout the night, actors perform lively scenes right in the midst of the audience, introducing colourful characters, motives, and plenty of hilarious twists. The action is up close and personal—guests can interact with suspects, ask questions, or simply sit back and enjoy the show. 

Just when things reach a boiling point, a dramatic (and delightfully comic) “murder” occurs. The room breaks for a delicious buffet, giving everyone time to dine, discuss, debate, and refine their theories. After dinner, the performance continues with new clues and more comedic moments, leading into a playful “kangaroo court” where audience members step in as judge and bailiff to settle lingering questions. Guests then cast their final vote for whodunnit, and Pegasus wraps up the evening by crowning the night’s top Super Sleuth.
